MAP is a program sponsored by HP that enables non-profit organizations to become certified training centers for micro and small entrepreneurs. Organizations are empowered to organize and deliver trainings for micro and small entrepreneurs, their employees and would-be employees, from their community on an innovative and practically oriented curriculum focused on teaching simple and widely available IT technology for business purposes. Become MAP - in 4 simple steps.

Fill out the 'I would like to become MAP' form.


To become MAP, you need to tell us who your organization is and check whether you meet our criteria. Just fill out and submit the I would like to become MAP form on the Join MAP page.

Sign a 'become MAP' agreement with us.


We’ve received your form and within 10 days checked that you're eligible to become MAP. Now it’s time to sign an agreement, so that we all know who’s doing what. What’s important for you to know is that you won’t be charged anything to become or function as MAP. MAP is sponsored by HP. (Keep reading this page to see what we mean!)

Attend a MAP Training of Trainers, free of charge.


Becoming MAP will enable you to open a training center and deliver the unique MAP IT technology-for-business curriculum to your small and micro entrepreneur audience. To do that, a couple of people from your organization will need to be trained on how to deliver the MAP Curriculum. We will train you on this, free of charge. (Keep reading this page to see what we provide as part of the Training of Trainers!)

Start delivering MAP courses to your entrepreneur customers.


Once you’ve set up your MAP training center and been trained on how to deliver the MAP curriculum, you can start delivering courses to small and micro entrepreneurs from your community. Ready to become MAP?

What you need to become MAP:

  • Two people in your organization who can attend the 5-day MAP Training of Trainers course
  • One person in your organization to launch, develop and run your MAP center
  • A room that can seat up to 16 people with tables, chairs, a flipchart, and a projector screen
  • IT equipment necessary for the trainings: 16 HP PCs or laptops (they don't have to be new) for the students to use, 1 HP laptop for the trainer to use, a printer, a projector, a stable internet connection; and also preferably a scanner, a digital camera, a mobile phone and a PDA
  • A 'become MAP' agreement signed with us

Here’s what you get from us, free of charge:


  • A 5-day Training of Trainers for at least two persons from your team. We will make an effort to have the trainings in your country and in your language, or in a nearby country.
  • Branded HP-sponsored MAP certification for your trainers and for your MAP center
  • Branded HP-sponsored MAP certificates for your entrepreneur students
  • MAP printed and electronic training materials (find out if MAP Curriculum is available in your language)
  • MAP marketing materials, including posters and banners to launch your center
  • Membership in the MAP Network

Here’s also what you don’t get from us:

  • Any IT equipment for your MAP training room
  • Any software
  • Accommodation, meals, and travel expenses for the trainers from your organization who are attending a MAP Training of Trainers session
  • Any expenses incurred in organizing or running your MAP center (such as classroom rent, trainer salaries, staff salaries, equipment, maintenance, etc.)
  • Any financial/cash assistance
